The toughness of HDPE(High-density polyethylene) is shown in: 1. Can be wrapped (thus reducing connections/soldering) 2. Can be used for deep trench welding (allowing to dig narrower trenches) 3. Make the pipe follow the direction of the deep groove 4. Can make the pipe resist ground movement (earthquake and mine settlement)
