HDPE(high density polyethylene) pipe can last exposed to ultra-violet rays of the sun for an extremely long period of time. But If the pipe is subjected to sunlight directly for long periods of time, which may reduced pipe life unless it's adequately protected. In order to protect the pipe from UV radiation, a minimal concentration of 2.0% of carbon black is needed.
Reason: Carbon Black can effectively resist UV damage to pipes and increase the service life of HDPE pipes
Puhui HDPE Pipe is already protected from the UV exposure by means of an addition of Carbon Black added to the resin prior to extrusion of the pipe. During pipeline production, the aging of the pipeline caused by ultraviolet rays is greatly reduced by adding carbon black.
